Thank You Steve Jobs

I was able to tweet about this but I haven’t blogged about this since I was really busy this past week. It’s never too late to say how sad the world must feel after a loss of a great and genius man. Steve Jobs has entertained millions of people through his innovations and creative inputs. Sadly, he’s also part of millions of people who fight cancer every single day. When I found out that he died, I was really sad. I looked up to him (well, besides Walt Disney and J.K. Rowling) because he started Apple (my bb Mac is very sad as well) but when I found out that he suffered from pancreatic cancer, I felt the loss his family must’ve been going through since my grandma died of the same disease as well. #RIPSteveJobs

03/11/11 – Tragedy Hits Japan :(

It’s kind of sad that my comeback post involves a tragic event which hit Japan yesterday, March 11, 2011. Here’s a quick recap of events:

An 8.9 magnitude earthquake struck north-east Japan on Friday, killing at least 300 people – although that figure is widely expected to rise. As a huge relief mission gets under way, states of emergency have been declared at two nuclear plants. Up to 300 bodies were recovered from the port city of Sendai, in Miyagi prefecture, and a third of Kesennuma, a city in the same region, is said to be under water.

Yesterday afternoon, my busmate told me that she received a text that an earthquake shook Japan that afternoon. At first, I couldn’t believe it. I mean, I just watched in the news last Wednesday that they experienced an earthquake there and I couldn’t imagine what it could be like for the Japanese to experience a terrible earthquake twice in the same week. I felt so horrible when I found out that it was a 8.9 magnitude earthquake. I wished my eyes deceived me, but no. So I arrived home, opened the internet and Google sent out an alert that there will be tsunamis in different areas including New Zealand, Hawaii, Indonesia, the Philippines, etc. Within just a few hours yesterday, the first wave hit the Philippines’ area of responsibility… and then the second and third wave hit (IDK if there were more)

On the other side of the world, Lady Gaga showers us with her awesomeness: an opportunity for us, her little monsters, to give back. It may be simple, but it’s for a great cause πŸ™‚

Let’s all continue praying for Japan and the rest of the world πŸ™‚ Take care everyone! x
