Paradise on Earth

I am one proud Filipino. I came across this video from and it shows different travel destinations in the Philippines. Born and bred in the pearl of the orient, I can truly say that this country is not only famous for its culture, heroes, and globally renowned artists and athletes, but it is a country also known for its heart and strength – something which exudes from the Filipinos themselves. I cannot wait for the different places I’ll be visiting around the country this summer! If you wanna go on a crazy, adventurous, spontaneous trip, you can visit Travel Factor, which already includes your itinerary for a hassle-free vacation.  x

The Escherian Stairwell

I’m not sure why people would even make this. I mean, is it just to make my brain explode because that just happened. This amazing Escherian stairwell that is said to be a myth by a lot of people was created by a Filipino architect named Rafael Nelson Aboganda and I must say, I would like to try this out one day!

I’ll Die Livin’ Just As Free As My Hair

Photo 2651 Photo 2654 Photo 2648So today was super ironic because it rained the whole day and yet my latest post was about what to do during summer. I heard that a typhoon is about to roll in the Philippines so I hope everyone stays safe.

Anyway this’ll just be a super quick post as I am in my jammies and ready to go to bed. Today, my family and I went to see ‘Divergent’ and I really enjoyed it, especially the soundtrack! Which reminds me, I have to get it asap. If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for? Go to the nearest mall near you!!! It was so funny though how I just kept thinking “oh my gosh Augustus and Hazel Grace are siblings in this movie and in their next movie together, they’ll be kissing” ughhh I just couldn’t stop thinking about it at first but don’t you worry because you’ll love Tris and Four’s chemistry and you’ll surely love their tandem as much as I did, no matter how “fast” it may have seemed. Some people are just really meant for each other *squee*

I love how the “Dauntless” citizens are described –  those who just dive into the unknown and suck in all the juices life has to offer. Just like my hair, which I love playing around with, we should be who we truly are no matter how messy we could get. We are free beings with our own mind and our own hearts, and nothing should dictate anything to us that we know doesn’t feel right. Carpe that freakin’ diem. x

Just Hanging Out

Photo 2622Can you just imagine me saying “HEEEEEEEY” with this face omg it matches so much

Anyway, it’s summer time and for people like me who enjoy doing absolutely nothing (and even get mad when we’re interrupted while doing nothing), this is our season. And also because I’m extremely busy when school rolls in, a.k.a physical therapy student and Editor-in-Chief duties for me.

Sharpay Evans once said, “It’s summer… anything could happen.” The next few months are the best days to just sit back, relax, and enjoy everything as it comes. There’s less stress, more opportunities to soak under the sun, more chances of catching up with the latest gossip, more moments to rekindle old friendships, and more time to appreciate everything around you. But when you’re not hitting the beach or exploring a different country, you can still make the most of your time filling in the gaps of your summer vacation. I’m actually planning on applying for a summer job with some friends so that’s a good way to earn money when you can’t leech off from your parents haha!

Fill in the gaps with these simple R&Rs:

1. Chill in the mall – in my case, I can’t turn on the air-condition during the day unless I ask permission first from my parentals and I can only use it when I go to bed. So to beat the heat, hit the mall! Yes, it could get a little crowded but think about it: you could catch the latest movies, go shopping with that hard-earned money or savings, sip on cool drinks or even just play in the arcade. You can never run out of things to do in the mall… I mean literally – sitting or walking around counts.

2. Escape reality – how? Only in the best way possible, which is either by reading a great new book or by watching all the tv shows you have lined up. My latest read was “Wait For You” by Jennifer Armentrout so I’m planning to get the sequel called “Be With Me” ASAP!!! You could actually find me holding a book in a cafe and I wouldn’t care what I’d look like because I’m not even there. This fangirl really gets into her reading. I’m also looking forward to a lot of happenings in some of my favorite series like what happens to the mother in How I Met Your Mother or how long can Jenna Hamilton stay single in Awkward.? I’m pretty sure a lot of things are going to happen in the shows you’re watching so don’t you dare miss it!

3. Appreciate yourself – the best way in doing this is by taking care of your body through regular exercise, like going to the gym at least three times a week, or rejuvenating at the spa. It’s really important that you learn to love yourself first before loving others. During the school year, you either have to study hard so you could give back to your parents and to be able to support your future family, or you spend time being there for your friends when they have problems. Use this time to keep loving yourself or start loving yourself if you have forgotten how to already.

Summer is also a great time to hang out and by hanging out, I mean not like these guys:

I mean c’mon, can you even? Anyway, stay safe, use sunblock, and have a happy summer!!! x

When Love Arrives

I stumbled upon this video by Sarah Kay and Phil Kaye called “When Love Arrives” which differentiates the love we create and the love we don’t anticipate. They made really good points such as how love isn’t perfect and how love may come at a different time. But when love does arrive, be thankful for it, even though at some point it leaves. Appreciate every moment because sometimes, there won’t be more. Learn to love the little things even though it’s not in your check list of your ideal partner. Smile with them. Laugh a lot with them. Cry with them. Dance with them. And most of all, cherish them.

I Have Run, I Have Crawled, I Have Scaled These City Walls

Summer time in Manila is finally here! I know it has been 4 months since my last blog post and with all honesty, it’s because I was still working on getting back up after all the bad things that happened to me early in November. I hit strike three of my unlucky semester when I got run over by a bike last February 13. Can you even believe that? It’s funny when I look back at it now but it’s still a lesson that when people knock you down, you gotta get back up, figuratively and in my case, literally.

I read in “Wait For You” by Jennifer L. Armentrout that there is a big difference between being a survivor and surviving. But she also said that ‘everything will be okay. Maybe not perfect, but life wasn’t meant to be perfect. It was messy and sometimes it was a disaster, but there was a beauty in the messiness and there could be peace in the disaster’. I believe that after trying to survive those first fifteen days of November, I became a survivor when I decided that I can’t keep being the victim anymore. I was able to enjoy the rest of my semester, even though remembering things still stung sometimes. Someone once said that the reason why people hold on to memories so tightly is because that’s the only thing that doesn’t change, even though the people in it have. I guess that’s an inevitable thing we’d all have to face in one way or another – change. It happens every second of every day. Now that I’m about to enter my third year in college, bigger changes and challenges are about to come my way.

I’m turning twenteen this May and I’d love to carpe diem everything – eating in buffets without worrying about the calories, going to parties that may or may not involve blackouts and hangovers, “exercising” for 30 minutes and wondering where my abs are or just laying low by reading a good book and sipping on chai latte in cafes; and from shopping until I’m maxed out to actually studying until I pass out. Life is too short and too fast. It can’t slow down or put it to a pause. I know I’m still young and I’m just about to enter the prime years of my life, but it’s still okay to make a few mistakes along the way or if you still haven’t found what you’re looking for, as long as in whatever you do, you give it your all.
