Cheers To My Last Teenage Year

George Burns once said, “You can’t help getting older, but you don’t have to get old.” Some people would say that by the time you reach your twenties, you’d really have to take a good and hard look at the kind of life you’d want to have. That’s actually something that scares me the most: the future. It’s one of the things I want to take control over but just can’t. I like having fun, my own free time, reading books while its raining outside, taking long bubble baths, eating three balls of cotton candy, munching on food and not care about the calories, spending absurdly on clothes, drinking alcohol while not worrying if my liver could take it, and having marathons of tv shows, not the running kind. Don’t get me wrong; spontaneous is my middle name, but I can’t handle stress and I occasionally have those little pet peeves. But truly, even though I may be another year older, things can still remain the same. After all, I have one more year before I turn twenty.

Last May 27, 2013, I celebrated my 19th birthday in a fun-filled day spent with family and friends at the Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City. I was greeted by my friends and relatives online and through texts and phones calls as soon as the clock struck twelve.

Throughout the rest of the day, I was unable to get a lot of pictures because I was seizing the moment and breathing in my nineteen year old air. Haha!

When I woke up, my family and I got dressed for brunch at IHOP. I ordered Chicken and Waffles, which was super delicious, and their ice tea, which is the best! It was hilarious and not to mention awkwaaaaard when the people started singing for me! At least I got ice cream for it.

Afterwards, I headed to The Mandara Spa at Unit 308 McKinley Park Residences. I had their Scrub, Masque Wrap, and Massage Package that brought me to another world of relaxation. I seriously didn’t want to leave after the scrub and massage! Click on the link below for more information then make that reservation for a spa experience you’ll truly enjoy.

DSC03388At night, Chin and I, the May 27 babies, treated our friends to a pizza party at Shakey’s. The Monster Meal Deal wasn’t enough for us and ended up ordering more! Afterwards, we went to Draft and Urbn at the Fort Strip and partied the night away. We got back to our condo and ended up sleeping at almost 5 in the morning.

It was such a great and memorable day! I better spend this last year of my teenage life wisely, while still taking chances at times. To my last teenage year, here we go! x

Marinduque 2013

Last May 17-20, 2013, my mom, little sister, and I went to the island of Marinduque, the heart of the Philippines. We stayed in my grandfather’s house in Gasan which was newly built just 2 years ago. From Pasig (where I was born and bred) to our destination, it actually took us 9 hours of travel, so you could just imagine how much my bottom hurt afterwards! Haha! We got there at around 3 in the afternoon and had our really really late lunch. I love how the caretaker always feeds us so much like there’s a fiesta! On our first day, we decided to do a bit of exercise and climbed up and down the Kawilihan Butterfly Garden.

It’s a legit treehouse I cant even

I passed out quite early on our first night because I was exhausted from both the trip and the visit up the mountain. The next morning, we decided to have breakfast and have a quick tour around Boac, which is the capital of Marinduque. It’s a 30 minute jeepney ride from Gasan and the views are just breathtaking. I don’t really commute much in Manila but doing so in the province is actually very fun! We ate at this cute diner called Goodchow, bought pastries at Krisna’s Bakeshop, then took snapshots of some old houses. When we got back to the house, we had another quite late lunch then headed to Pinky’s Taha Resort, which is an up and coming recreational resort in Gasan. My little sister and I went on the flying fish and swam on both the ocean and the pool. I can’t wait to come back and see how the place turns out once it’s completely done. I already love it!

On our third day, I woke up at around noon because I was sleeping comfortably and was super tired. It was scorching hot in the afternoon and we decided to take a stroll along the beach, the park, and dared ourselves on the hanging bridge. It was windy along the shores (thank God) and watched the sunset. Since it was our last night, they fed us twice as much food!

On our last day, we packed up early and prepared ourselves for another 9-hour trip. We got some souvenirs and stored on food and drinks. During my stay, I was also able to start and finish my summer book, “Before I Fall” and can I just say MY FANGIRL HEART IS BREAKING OH MY GAWSH IT WAS SO GOOD AND I CAN’T GET OVER IT. Anyway, I just love summer!

Met Gala 2013

I love dressing up and in this year’s costume institute gala, celebrities gave PUNK a whole new spin. Some of their outfits were pleasing to the eye while some took it a little too far. Here are my picks!

The dress may not really scream ‘punk’ but the hair and make-up does it for her!

Love the sexy twist to this outfit that she’s actually wearing a jumpsuit.

Classy and just, lovely.

This is super sexy! I love it!

PUNK! I can’t say it’s trashy at all because I think it’s brilliant and creative!

Love this look!

I love her outfit!

Love this look!

I felt like these outfits are either safe, pretty, okay, or I didn’t really feel like the theme is shown.

She looks like she’s having so much fun with this look!

This is not really flattering on her baby bump and omg look her shoes completely match!!!

I feel like the straps are too much.

The tights look uncomfortable. That’s probably my only dilemma with this outfit. She still looks super gorgeous!

Maybe just the dress with be amazing but that jacket is an overkill.

Staycation at Le Blanc Antipolo

Last May 4-5, 2013, my friends and I stayed at this beautiful resort called Le Blanc. It’s a great place to bond and party with your friends since you get the whole place to yourselves! Here are just some snapshots of the place.

My corner of the room! I had a bed all to myself.

We first met up at Mcdonald’s Katipunan then drove off to the mall to get food, drinks, and of course ping pong balls. Afterwards, we went straight to the resort and settled down. The place was really beautiful and very modern. It had a half bastketball court, pool table, swimming pool, karaoke room, and a bar. We were with Gela’s family and they made sure to really take care of us. Our group occupied two rooms and were split into genders. It was super funny because the girls’ room was a lot bigger than the guys and we were only 7 girls while the guys were 8. We bonded a lot then had buffet dinner, which was sooooo good btw! After eating, we changed into our bathing suits and well, we unleashed craziness. I think I passed out on my bed a few minutes after 4am and I didn’t even get to change. Haha oh well… yolo right? I had such a good time last night and I can’t wait for more bonding moments with my high school friends + new friends before I resume real life a.k.a college.
