“I really want to give women the freedom to look beautiful, but feel comfortable,” she says of her new designs, which are looser and more forgiving. Ironically, however, the clothes preceded the pregnancy.
“I can’t wait to fit in (the dresses) again,” she said while narrating the show, held in a house on the Upper East Side. “I designed this collection before I found out I was pregnant.”
After the presentation, Beckham told USA TODAY’s Arienne Thompson that “like everyone else this week, I feel quite tired,” but professionally and personally she’s never felt better or more confident. She also cleared up any misconception about her bun in the oven.
“I can go on the record and say contrary to rumors, I do not know the sex of my baby!”
And, she added, she’s not even sure they’ll find out. A little girl would provide Beckham with a mini-me fashionista for sure, but she says they just “feel so lucky and so blessed” to be expanding their family.
“We know what to do with boys,” she says of her three sons with footballer David Beckham. “They’re excited about having a little brother to teach how to play soccer. … But, if it’s a girl, we’d be over the moon as well.”
